MWUN APPLAUDS PTML MD OVER STAFFERS TRAINING

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, fnli HFCPSP, applauds the Managing Director of Ports and Terminal Multi services Ltd (PTML) over training sponsorship of five (5) Dockworkers, members of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria and staffers of PTML under RORO Tin-Can Island District for Mobile Crane Operation (RTG) to Germany and Holland respectively.

The said Maritime Workers of the PTML Unit have acquired specialized trainings on RTG operation both in Germany and Holland; and had returned to the country after their successful outings.
Dr. Adeyanju who is the foremost maritime labour leader, Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) who is also the Vice President Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) commended the Managing Director of PTML, Ascanio Russo for being magnanimous enough to see reasons for training and retraining the workers for the purpose of pragmatic output in today’s modern industrial development and growth, such that would match the growing pace of global maritime practice.

Prince Adeyanju described Mr. Russo as an advanced maritime industrial guru who in his own dynamic class with a visionary foresight towards manpower development in conformity with challenges of repositioning PTML for rapid progression of a more prosperous maritime outfit in the country and to measure at par with her counterparts across the globe.
The Maritime Workers Union is absolutely impressed and grateful to the management of PTML over this wonderful gesture and pray that this symbiotic relationship between PTML and MWUN will continue to wax stronger in all ramifications.

Comrade Adeyanju also wants to use this medium to appeal to other Stakeholders in the industry and Terminal Operators to follow suit and emulate the good deeds of PTML, believing that such manpower development will effectively and efficiently improve and impact immensely on workers psyche for maximum industrial growth and productivity.
