EID MUBARAK: MARITIME WORKERS’ UNION OF NIGERIA (MWUN) CELEBRATES WITH MUSLIMS

The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the aegis of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adeyanju Adewale, fnli, HFCPSP, celebrates with Muslims Umma in the country and across the world on the occasion of Eid Mubarak.

The Muslim celebration is being held in Nigeria and globally by Muslim faithful after the Ramadan fasting and prayers came to an end in the holy month.

Dr. Adeyanju, a devoted Muslim, calls on all Muslims across the world to use this season of Eid Mubarak to reflect solely on the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Unto Him) to rejuvenate their lives in accordance with the tenets of Islam.

Prince Adeyanju, describes Islam as a religion of peace, therefore, it’s expected of every Muslim to reflect on the character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Unto Him), who taught us the principles of peace, love, and kindness towards one another when He was on planet earth doing the works of the Almighty Allah; advising that by giving alms to the poor and needy in our society and  being our brothers keeper everywhere in Nigeria and anywhere across the world, it’s only then, that we have come to proper reconciliation with the Almighty Allah. And that is the significance of Eid Mubarak.

The Numero Uno Maritime Labour Leader who doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) also admonished Muslims to be steadfast in their prayers and supplications daily to fulfill the tenets of Islam as recorded in the Holy Quran. He also use the occasion to ask Muslims to pray for a better Nigeria, saying that in all our political and social adversities in the country Allah is not unaware and it’s only through our prayers and supplications we can surmount all for a healthier society.

Prince Adeyanju charged Muslims to eschew bitterness with one another, urging them to avoid violence, unnecessary wars amongst communities, and countries, so as to make the country and the world a better place of habitation for humanity.

The International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) Vice President Global, is wishing all Muslims across the country a happy Barka da Sallah and to all the Stakeholders in the Maritime sector, the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), The Director General of NIMASA, Executive Secretary of Shippers Council and Chairperson of STOAN and a host of them in the industry. Happy EID.
