THE SIGNING OF PIONEER CBA, LEKKI FREEPORT TERMINAL

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adeyanju Adewale, fnli, HFCPSP, with the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporation and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) under the aegis of Comrade Abodunde signed into a working document, the pioneer Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) of their members working at the Lekki Deep Sea, Freeport Terminals in conjunction with the Management Team of the Freeport Zone under its Managing Director, Christophe Cassang.

The signing of the CBA was witnessed by all the top executive members of both in-house Unions and top management executives of the Lekki Free Terminals in a goodly atmosphere, where the workers were all elated and excited over the working document which was long expected to guide both workers and management on operational functions at workplace. The said working document stands also as tool for punitive measures for erring workers.

The meeting which did not take long after going into session was a colourful one with so much exchange of pleasantries amongst members, executives of the Union’s and management executives.
