PRESS RELEASE:

MWUN VISITS NPA MD, DANTSOHO

The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi with his Executives visited the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho and some of his Executive Directors, Wednesday this week at his Marina Headquarters office, Lagos.

The visit was to familiarize the recently elected executive officers of the Union to Dr. Dantsoho and his Executives. The President-General of the Union, Comrade Bunu, says the visit was necessary so as to acquaint ourselves with each other as the Union and the Ports Authority are partners in progress in the maritime sector; hence, both organizations cannot work in isolation.

The foremost Maritime Labour leader in the country, Comrade Bunu says the visit afforded the MWUN Executives the opportunity to extend their felicitations to the MD of the Ports Authority over the International Maritime Organization (IMO) category ‘C’ seat recently won for Nigeria by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Honourable Adegboyega Oyetola.

Com Bunu described the feat achieved for Nigeria and the Maritime sector as laudable and a giant one, saying it’s a bold and fruitful step that has been achieved so far for the progress and advancement of Nigeria’s Maritime Industry.

Dr. Dantsoho thanked the PG of MWUN and his team assuring him of a continual work synergy in the sector, so as to make the country’s maritime industry a hub of activities both locally and globally.

Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN
